A United Nations Commitment to Biodiversity

Humanity depends on nature. Alarming trends in biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation require urgent action. The United Nations (UN) can provide guidance, support, and scaled solutions to address the current planetary crisis while building back better from COVID-19.

Through the Common Approach to Integrating Biodiversity and Nature-based Solutions for Sustainable Development, the UN has committed to catalyze collective action for nature to help achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Climate Agreement, and the post-2020 global biodiversity framework.

United for Nature is an online toolkit to help organizations and individuals across the UN system and beyond to understand the fundamental importance of biodiversity to life on Earth, and share knowledge and best practices so they can be effective champions and transformative agents #ForNature.
